SPADER

SPADERS are the preferred tool for deep tillage and cultivation while doing the least soil structure damage. The working motion does not beat or mix soil layers and will fracture the hardpan. Cover crop is pushed downwards throughout the soil profile and the soil is broken by being forced backwards against raked tailgate and worked soil. Backward spade motion pushes the tractor forward the result is less required HP than comparable width tillers. Tortella Spaders feature a 3 speed lever control gearbox.

Tortella also uses a dual sleeve arm to hold the spade for extra strength against rock, and  an advance penetration angle (compared to other spaders) to reduce wear and increase machine life. Tortella is also the only spader manufactured as a single unit instead of assembled from pre-made parts. These are reasons Tortella is widely recognized as the most durable of spaders.
